And in less than one year created a six figure business. And now she is spilling all her secrets. So you can to.
Brandi Mowles: A Serve Scale Soar family. I am so excited because today we are talking about something that really, really bothered me that I heard recently from someone on Instagram and it made me think, man, burnout is a real thing, but it doesn't have to completely halt our business. You can still run a business, burnout now it's going to happen no matter if you're, of course, greater service provider. It can happen. But how we prepare and how we deal with that. That's where the magic is. So this episode is all about burnout and how to avoid it happening. But before we jump into that, I want to read one of our reviews from our Spotlight listeners. And this one's from L. R. Runner. Say yes to this podcast. Five stars. I just finished bingeing a bunch of Brandy's podcasts, and she's amazing. She's shared so much value. It's easy to listen to. Gets right to the point and makes it relatable and actionable seriously. It doesn't get better than this. If you're an entrepreneur looking for results after listening to Episode eight on tracking high paying clients on LinkedIn, you gave me some extremely useful tips on how to find people in your niche already connected with two of my ideal clients. Just following her simple steps.
Brandi Mowles: If you're serious about building your service based business, go to subscribe to our podcast right now and listen to them all. Thank you so much. L.R. Runner. And what I love is you took action. You didn't just listen to the podcast, but you took action. You use those tips to go out and attract your ideal client on LinkedIn. I love that. I also love that you said I get right to the point because that's exactly what I'm going to do today. I'm going to get right to the point. This is gonna be a short, sweet and impactful episode for you. So let's chat about what the heck sinking ships and burnout in your business have to do. So this all started when I was on Instagram and I was listening in someone's story. And they teach people how to phase out their clients and create a membership or course. And they were talking about how all service providers get burned out because you're working one on one, you're trading time for dollars, blah, blah. And that's why you show created, of course, a membership. But think about it, using all course creators, all membership providers are just living this lovely life without burnout coming into it.
Brandi Mowles: Oh, that's why they have a term called launch burnout, because course creators and membership creators are launching and they get burned out from that. Service providers get burned out. Every industry can get burned out. If you're not doing the things to prevent it. And so that's what this episode is about. It doesn't mean just because you're a service provider, you're going to burn out. You can burnout doing anything. So I just thought this was bothering me for about a week that that person said that. And then I was on the Peloton and they were talking about, like so many of us are afraid to ask for help. And they have referred to it as the sinking ship and how that we need to ask for help so we can get the life preservers. But then in my brain, it was like a light bulb moment just happened. I was like, no, burnout is like a sinking ship. I referred to it as a boat from now on. So when we think about our service based business, the thing about burnout, you may be listening to this and you're like thing Britney. I'm almost at that point a burnout or I've been there and I hope it doesn't come back because we feel it coming. It is not something that just hits and it's like out of nowhere and all, man, we're burned out. Starts at our toes and it comes up, but it gets into our heart.
Brandi Mowles: And then we feel like we're drowning. And then that's when a lot of people quit. They're burned out. They can't take it anymore. That's understandable. But the great thing about burnout is we feel it coming. It's not a surprise. We know it's there. We know it's getting closer. We know it's getting stronger. It's just like a boat when sinking first to take on water. To go down. And you're like, oh, man, I know. I'm sinking, oh, what do I do? And then there's two choices you can make. A lot of people will grab a bucket or something and they're trying to get the water off the boat. They're trying. They're getting anything they can to get water off the boat. Very few people go and be like, what is causing the water to get on the boat? What is causing the water? Where is the hole in the hole? Is your problem. That's what's causing the boat to sink. The water is just a side effect of the hole in the boat. And so as many of us are going all around doing all the things, trying to like, stay above water, the person whose business is going to soar is the person who finds the hole in the boat. Is the hole. So what I want you to do is what is the hole in your business?
Brandi Mowles: Is it that your systems aren't tight enough? You're spending too much time sending out individual proposals. You're saying that individual systems you're sending out emails like what are you sending out?
Brandi Mowles: That could be automated. Are there clients who are draining you? Did you set boundaries in the beginning with them? Are you spending times Marketing, marketing, marketing info like all your day is going to marketing and you're not getting any discovery calls. That's a hole. It doesn't have to be that way. Or are you doing all the things. Definitely can overcome that because there's no reason for you to be doing all the things in your business. Or maybe you're just not charging enough. Maybe you're charging hourly. What are those holes in your business that can be patched so your boat? Doesn't seem. None of us should have sinking boats, but there will come tons in our business where we feel the water coming on and it's getting heavy and we fill it. And you'll have a decision to make. Are you going to grab for the bucket and try and try so hard to get all that water off the boat? You'll get exhausted and the boat will sink. Or are you going to go straight to the hole and fix it? So no more water comes on. That's how we make sure burnout out doesn't consume us. It doesn't. Consumer business. And ultimately so we stay in business. And more importantly, so we're working from our happiness level. Burnout doesn't happen when you're working from your happiness level. It just can't. So what can you do today to fix the holes in your boat for its saints? Now, I know some of you are like Brandi. I don't even know where to begin with the holes.
Brandi Mowles: And that's why I have a free training for you. So head over to Serve Scale Soar dot.com for size 10k and that will give you the action steps to look and see what are the holes missing in your business. And I know that you can fix those. You can patch them. Sometimes sometimes they take a little bit longer, though. The fix. Sometimes it means going from six thousand dollars months to four thousand months. That's exactly what I did when I had to fix the holes in my business to scale to ten thousand. I went from six thousand. Realize that I was coming up on burnout. I felt it. It was so heavy, brought down to four thousand dollars a month. And then the very next month I had a ten thousand dollar month. That is what happens when we fix the holes in this thing. So I encourage you take inventory of your business. What can you fix? What can you change? How can you patch the holes if you need more guidance? Head over to that free training and let me know your thoughts. That is this week's quick episode of the Serve Scale Soar podcast. I hope you go out this week. Take inventory of the holes in your business, fix the holes and know that it won't happen overnight. Let's start working on them. Take messy action, start repairing that business and then go serve your clients. Bail your business for. Into that six figure year you deserve.
