Today's episode is all about marketing your services. We all want to know, do we actually have to be on Instagram to grow our business? And my answer may surprise you. So in this episode, we're going to talk all about where the heck are your people hanging out? Where the heck should you be? How to get a game plan in place, and what the heck is the difference between active and passive marketing. So if this is something you are so excited about learning about and 100% should be at the top of your list. Then let's dive on in.

Welcome to the Serve Scale Soar podcast, the podcast dedicated to helping service based entrepreneurs scale their online business to five figure months so they can soar into six figure years your host Brandi is a wife mom and in less than one year created a six figure business and now she is spilling all her secrets. So you can do

Hello Serve Scale Soar family. I am so excited. This is Brandi, your host. And I love talking about marketing. Like I just love it, which makes sense why I'm a Facebook ad strategist. But here's the thing. If you don't love marketing, it's okay. Most people don't love marketing, but it's the most important part of your business. It's how we get clients. It's how we pay our bills. It's how we create a life and a business we love is all through marketing. And I'm all about authentic marketing, and making sure your time is spent with the biggest impact. And so before we jump in and talk all about where the heck you should be marketing your services, I want to read one of our reviews from our spotlight listener and this one's coming from Brooke L. She gives the podcast five stars and says bring these simple and easy to implement processes and systems has saved me loads of time and energy. She always shares valuable information and then authentic and real Well being very mindful of everyone's time. Absolutely appreciate that she gets straight to the point. Well, thank you so much, Brooke for leaving that. And today, I'm going to save you even more time. Because in this episode, I'm teaching you to stop doing all the things, stop being on all the platforms, and focus on the one that's going to have the biggest impact in your business. And so I so appreciate you leaving that review. And if you would like to be mentioned, as one of our spotlight listeners, go in and leave an honest review below. And we may be featuring you in our next episode. So here's what I want to talk about today. It's all about where you should be marketing your services, what's going to have the biggest impact, and do you really need to be on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, tiktok, all the places are you should you be focused on just a few, or even just one, and that's what I'm diving into today. If you haven't listened to Episode 23, I would definitely go back and look That one, because that's all about niching down your services. And when we get really clear on who we serve, it's way easier to find out how to market our services.

But don't leave me I just go back and listen to that one afterwards. And then you'll want to revisit this podcast episode anyway.

Because marketing is such an essential part of scaling and growing our business. And so the first thing I want to we need to talk about is identifying where your audience is hanging out. And so I'm a firm believer in we do not go to the platform we love. We go to the platform our clients love, where are one, the person that we want to serve the most? Where are they hanging out? Because here's the thing. If you want to serve dentist, they're not hanging out on Instagram. They're probably going to be on LinkedIn or Facebook, but they're probably not hanging out on Instagram. And so if you love Instagram, I'm sorry, your client doesn't The person you want to serve doesn't. So that does not mean we spend countless hours marketing on Instagram. If you are someone who wants to really work with influencers, and you cannot stand Instagram, but you are marketing you love LinkedIn, which I don't know how many people are actually on here, like I love LinkedIn. But let's say that's where you love to hang out. But you want to work with influencers, they're probably not going to be as effective on LinkedIn as if you were on Instagram or in Facebook groups. So I think it's really getting clear on where our people are hanging out. And then some of you are sitting there and you're like, Well, my people aren't on social media at all. And I would challenge you on that. Everyone is on a social media platform. Very few people are not engaging in somewhere other on a social media platform. Whether that's LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, tik tok. Wherever they are hanging out on one, maybe it's Twitter. And so getting really clear on where your people hang out, and maybe you don't know. And this is where it's going to take some time and you're going to have to research and take a little extra step to figure out where they are. Pull your people go, like if you want to serve Dennis, go to a dentist's office and ask, Where are you hanging out? I know for a fact that they're on LinkedIn, because I've done research for you. So everyone is hanging out somewhere. It's just identifying where that somewhere is. And that is your first step is getting away from you love x platform and moving towards my client loves x platform and figuring out what that platform is. That's going to be where we have to do our research. Once you find out where that platform is. This is when research comes into handy. You're going to find out let's say it's in Facebook, what groups are they Hanging out with, you're going to join those groups. If it's LinkedIn, we're going to do some research. What are they posting about? Are they in LinkedIn groups? Maybe it's on Instagram, what hashtags are they using? We want to get to know the actions of our ideal client. What are they using? Where are they hanging out? What activity are they posting on what platform? Here's an example you want to work with course creators. A lot. Of course creators are on Instagram, they love Instagram. But that's not necessarily where they're posting job Ops, when they're looking for people. They're going into Facebook groups. So this is another one is identifying the actions by doing the research of our ideal client. What actions do they take on what platform and I think that's so so important, as well as doing that extra step, figuring out where they're posting job Ops, where they're looking for their next hire, and getting really specific Fake on that. Then once we've identified where our audience is hanging out, we've done our research, then we know which platform we're going to focus on. And I don't want you focusing on all the platforms, or three platforms, or even two platforms to start out with, I really want you to focus on one platform. And that's going to be the number one place that your people are looking for new hires, they're interacting the most, the easiest way for you to connect with them at the deepest level. And so we're going to optimize that platform. For me. It's 100%. Still Facebook, I love Facebook, I'm on Instagram, and I use Instagram in different ways. But for my Facebook ad business, it is 100% Facebook. And so I'm going to optimize my Facebook business page. I'm going to optimize my strategy for going into groups and finding clients. And so I want you to optimize whatever platform that is and post in the show notes, we actually if LinkedIn is where your people are hanging out, we do have our episode on LinkedIn. And that will link up but also we have how to optimize your profile for LinkedIn. And that ServeScaleSoar.com, forward slash LinkedIn will get that linked up in the show notes for you as well. But optimizing that platform and optimizing the strategy you have for that platform, and then once we've identified where audience are hanging out, we've done the research, we've optimized that platform, we are going to dedicate 30 days, we are going to say for 30 days, I'm going to actively market and we're going to talk about the difference between active and passive marketing. But I'm going to actively market my services for 30 days on this platform. And honestly, I really think you should give it 90 but the first step is 30 days, and you're going to make a commitment to yourself. Right now. Listen Saying once you do it that you are dedicated to getting at least one new client in 30 days by one platform and only focusing on that one platform for business and coming up with a really great 30 day strategy for that platform. And once we do that, then it's time to market. It's time to go from passive marketing to active marketing. And this is a question that comes up all the time inside Serve Scale Soar is Brandi, what is passive marketing? What is active marketing. This is something that I've just identified, and this is how I define it. So other people may call passive and active marketing different. But for me, passive marketing is when we're just posting on Instagram. We're just posting on LinkedIn. We're just going into a Facebook group, and doing these value posts that are apparently showing that we're an expert in our field that everyone kind of knows that you're spamming the group but that is powerful. Marketing, you are kind of just like hoping you're putting it out there and hoping people will come to you and hire you. On the other side, active marketing is when we are driving the ship. And that's when we go into Facebook groups. We type in the search bar, job, ah Facebook ad manager, podcast manager, hiring, whatever it is, we are actively looking for those people who want to hire us on LinkedIn. We are connecting with our ideal clients, and then following up with them in a non sleazy way in their messages to build the relationship to get them on the Discovery calm on Instagram. Maybe you're connecting with your ideal people, but then you're sending them non sleazy dm to build that relationship to connect for discovery call, but it's not just posting and hoping that someone will say, Oh, I need to hire them. But we are acting Marketing our services, we are actively taking responsibility for our success. And that is the difference between active and passive marketing in my book, when people say I spend all day marketing and I asked them, What have you been doing? And they say I go into Facebook groups and I post I put up a post that says what's your biggest struggle with Facebook ads and people say stuff and maybe they respond that will maybe down the road from now when you're offering a completely different service, get you clients, but the people who say I spent 15 minutes actively marketing myself today I'm like, great, what did you do? And they say I responded with value to five people looking for a Facebook ad manager. I sent them videos I showed up in their messenger and authentic way when they were asking to hire someone. Those are the people who are active get Lee getting clients every month in staying booked out, opposed to the people Getting in and posting value post or just posting on Instagram or showing up on Instagram lives, or stories, hoping some they're giving a value that someday someone will hire them so much longer road. I'm all about growing your business to get to successful and as quickly as possible, like broke in the review set. She loves that I save her time and energy. And that's the exact same thing that you do when you go from passive marketing to active marketing is you're saving time and energy you're getting to the point we all have family, we all have things that we want to accomplish. And when we're spending two hours on Facebook groups, or two hours on Instagram or two hours on LinkedIn, just posting post and hoping that's not serving us we have to actively take responsibility for our marketing and that's the difference between those who are under booked and those who are weightless status over booked out service providers. So I would highly encourage you to take a minute and look back. Have you been actively marketing your services? Or have you been passively marketing your services. And if you've been passively, don't worry, it happens. We've been told go into groups and add value show up on Instagram stories and add value. But I am telling you from someone who has not only scaled their business to over 200,000, from just Facebook ad services, and helped hundreds of people stop spending time on value posts and really taking charge of their marketing and seeing how quickly they can grow their business then it works. So take the time Look, but I have been guilty when I first started a passive marketing. And that's when I decided I didn't have time for that. I didn't want to have time for that I want to results and I wanted them much much quicker. And so if you are someone who wants to have results quicker, you want to have more your time back, you want to have more your energy back, then I would encourage you to take more of an active marketing stance than a passive marketing. And the ways you're going to do that first is identifying and getting on the platform that your clients want to be on, not the ones you want to be on, you're going to do your research, you're going to optimize the heck out of that one platform. And then you're going to really dedicate 30 days of being intentional on that platform to get your next new client. And I am so excited. Because I know when you take these steps, you're going to see your business grow quicker, faster, you're gonna have more time back and more energy back. And so what I challenge you to do is in these next 30 days is get super intentional and take a different chance on your marketing and if it feels uncomfortable, that's okay. It's going to feel uncomfortable in the beginning. And then once you do it more and more, it becomes more comfortable. I guarantee you, you're going to see a difference and how you show up, and how you interact with getting clients. And you get excited about marketing because it doesn't take all day, it's much, much quicker, and you're getting results quicker, which gets you more excited about your business. And that's what I want for everyone is to be more excited about their business. So just a quick recap is, when we're deciding where to market our services, we're going back and we're going to where a client wants to hang out, not where we want to. We're doing our research, we're optimizing our platform, and we're going to dedicate 30 days to active marketing. And when you do that, I cannot wait to hear your results. Please come back and let me know because I want to celebrate you. And so DM me, send me a message. I just can't wait to celebrate you.
